Back in Domodossola It is hard to believe we have been back in Domodossola for almost a month! We have been busy getting back into the swing of things, but a lot of time has been spent getting our documents in order. We are thrilled with how the ladies Bible study has been going as well as the new (since we left) mid-week study. Please keep these in your prayers.
Document Troubles Keeping our documents up to date in Italy has never been easy, but the new laws enacted last year, along with the fact that we now live in a small town rather than Milan, has caused the process to become even more difficult (i.e. wasteful of time). Scott, thankfully, was able to pick up his renewed residency permit (it only took half a day to pick it up). However, he found that since it was just a one year renewal, he gets to start the whole renewal process again in a few weeks. Meanwhile Sharon's permit has still not been issued. After lots of asking around and finger pointing, we still have no idea what the hold-up is. Although several people that have told us that it should have been issued already. While we have been told that it is no problem, it would be nice if it was issued in time to start the renewal process.
Team Coming Please be in prayer for the preparations for a summer team that will be here to help in July. They will be involved with tract distribution, open air evangelism, children's clubs, English conversation classes and other youth outreaches. (Whew - They will be busy!)
Google Group I have heard that some of you who signed up for our prayer letter via e-mail (that is via the Google mailing group) have not been getting the letters. It seems that some ISPs block Google group mailings. If you have not gotten our latest prayer letter (sent in early April), please let us know and we will see what we can do to help you get it. In the meantime you can read our prayer letter on our Google Group page.
Mailing Lists Updated We have completed the process of updating our mailing lists. We got back only about 40% of the reply cards we sent out. So some of you may find that you are no longer getting our prayer letters. If you still wish to receive our letters, please let us know (by e-mail, phone, snail mail, in person, carrier pigeon) and we will get you back on the list ASAP. Prayer Support When we updated our support list, we also updated our prayer support list. We are catching up with where we want to be, but still have only 77.6% of our desired prayer support (target is an average of 100 people a day praying). If you pray for us, but did not return a reply card (or a reply e-mail), please let us know so that we can include you in our prayer supporters. WE NEED PRAYER SUPPORTERS!!! Financial Support 80.4% of full support. For more details please contact us.
At the
moment, we are about $184/month short of a "break
even" support level. For the moment we can
cover this shortfall from funds in our account at
CrossWorld, but if we keep going this way the
funds will run out before the end of our current
term (April 2011). Please pray for God's
provision.
Prayer Requests &
Praises Praise that the Ladies Bible Study is growing! Please pray for this outreach. Pray for preparations (and support) for a short term team from a church in MD which is planning on coming this summer. Pray for the mid-week Bible study that we are having with one of Alida's coworkers and her mother. Praise for good conversations at the book table. Pray for another vendor who has had several good conversations with Scott. Praise for new prayer and financial support that has come in in the past few months. Pray that the Lord would provide for the additional prayer and financial support we need. Praise for the work we have been able to get done on our documents. Pray that we would be able to get our documents in order here without wasting much more time.
Continue
to pray for Scott's problem with headaches.
While it had gotten better for a time, in the
past week or so it has gotten considerable
worse. He is in the process of setting
up an appointment with a Neurologist.
