Christmas

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!
We enjoyed a white Christmas here in Domodossola.

We had our annual "White Elephant" Christmas party with the youth.  They had a great time.

Here they are playing a game where they had to draw a Christmas related design on the back of each person down the line.

A few weeks before they had made crafts to sell at a craft table outreach.

These are candy roses.

The funds raised from the sales went to an evangelical orphanage in Sicily.

The youth came up with, planned and ran the whole outreach.
We had to move the table next to the wall because it was a very windy day.

Thanksgiving

A team of three ladies (connected to one of our supporting churches in Florida) came to visit us in November.

They helped us distribute tracts in a small town down the valley.  Here they are stuffing the tracts with a coupon for a free Scripture Calendar.

But the main reason they came was to help us hold a Thanksgiving Dinner outreach.  Here we are working together to make apple pies.

They also helped take care of the mountains of work involved in transporting a full dinner from our house to the room we rented for the occasion ...

... not to mention helping with serving the meal.

The turkey was impressive in size - 36 lbs!  It was also quite good!

In fact, all of the food turned out pretty good.
The real proof was that almost everyone came back for seconds!

And we had plenty of pie to top the evening off.

But before we ate dessert, the ladies put on a wonderful skit about the "first Thanksgiving".

We were surprised to learn that most of the Italians,
not only had never heard about the origins of Thanksgiving ...

... but also did not know that the reason behind Thanksgiving was thanking God for His blessings.
