Our Support

As we travel to Italy to serve the Lord as church planting missionaries, we are only a small part of a large team.  We need supporters to pray for us, give financially, and encourage us.  Here are some ways that you can have a part in our ministry.

And if you are already a part of our team - THANK YOU!  The ministry that the Lord does through us will add up to your "account".

"Not that I seek for the gift ; but I seek for the fruit that increaseth to your account."  - Phil 4:17

Updated Support Needs

Prayer Support

Our goal is to have, on average, 100 people praying for us each day.  We are currently only at about 84% prayer support.

If you would like to JOIN our prayer team, please let us know.

WE NEED PRAYER SUPPORTERS!!

Financial Support
(77.8%)

Short version - to be able to make it to our next time of home ministry we will need a bare minimum of $300/month or $7,500 in one time gifts (or a combination of the two) in additional support.  For details, continue reading:

Currently we are at 77.8% of full support (full support now means full salary and our current housing costs in Domodossola - considerably less than housing in Milan).

While it would be nice to be fully supported, we can still comfortably get by on less than full support and so we are drawing a reduced amount for salary and housing.  However, even with our reduced salary and housing amounts, we still do not have enough support to be able to make it to our next time of Home Minsitry.

Our plan was to renew our support base during our time of home ministry assignment this summer and early fall.  However, because of the adoption, we will not be taking our time of home ministry.  Scott hopes to take a "mini" home ministry (about 2 weeks) in the fall of this year.

So, where does that leave us support wise?  Not too bad off, but not too good either.  It's sort of a "good news/bad news" kinda situation:

  • Bad news - With the adoption, we do face some increased costs (our new little one eats quite well, for example :-) ) as well as eventually increasing our support amount (there is a per child amount that is part of our support chart).

  • Good News: With the stronger dollar (which many expect to stay strong - pray that it does), we are hoping to be able to offset these increased costs and support amounts, without having to increase what we receive each month.

  • Bad News: We also have lost some support in recent months (one church and several individuals) and our monthly contribution to the home office was increased in September.

  • Good News: We have gotten some unexpected one time gifts that have helped to fill in those holes temporarily.

  • Bad News: But taking that all into consideration, we still are short of where we need to be in order to "break even" or have enough in our account to make it to our next "official" home ministry (planned for summer 2012).

  • Good News: Scott does have the upcoming "mini" home ministry to seek this additional support, although it will only be about a 2 week trip.

  • Our bottom line projection is that we need a bare minimum $300/month, or $7,500 in one time gifts to be able to make it to our next time of Home Ministry.  Please pray that the Lord would raise up support to fill this gap.  Note that this does not take into account any other increases in our support needs (such as further increases to our health plan, home office contribution, weakening dollar or the need to purchase another vehicle).  It truly is a "bare minimum".  Hence, we would like to raise a bit more, so as to have a bit of a cushion for these things.

  • Best News: God has promised to provide for all our needs.  It has been wonderful to see how He has always done that over these last 10 years that we have been here in Italy.

One BIG prayer request in this area.  The new health care legislation that was passed recently could result in a significant increase in our support (probably not immediately, but in 2014).  We still do not know all the details on this, but it is a matter of concern, especially as it could have a major impact not only on us but also all other CrossWorld missionaries.

If you would like our current support figures or would like a breakdown of what is included in our support amounts, please contact us and we will be happy to send that information to you.

So, how can you help?  We're glad you asked!

If you would like to help with our financial support, it is possible to do so in three ways:

  • Pledged support  This would be an amount that you pledge to send in monthly, quarterly or even annually.  You would begin sending in these amounts as soon as you make the pledge.  If you want to support us in this way, please let us know so that we can update our figures.

  • Advance support  For those who can not pledge or prefer to give one time gifts, It is possible to give a single gift towards our support for our current term.  For example, a one time gift of $250 would provide $10 a month between now and the end of our current term (estimated August 2012) If you would like to give this type of  support, please designate your gift as "advanced support" so we will know to use it in this way.

  • Occasional gifts  Some people also send in occasional one time gifts.  These gifts can help with unexpected expenses or help us cover a shortfall in our pledged support.
